For you and your guests' enjoyment and protection,we have a few wedding guidelines to help you to get the most out of your special day.
1. We have chosen our dedicated wedding location very carefully, giving you and your guests the best possible mountain views along with ease of access from our village. To secure a reservation exclusively for your special day we simply ask for a 50% deposit of the wedding fee ($125 plus GST) and the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to arrival.
2. As your wedding celebration takes place on our resort slopes, each of your wedding guests will be issued with a free resort hiking pass that clearly provides details of our liability policy for their information. Don't worry these do not have to adorn your best wedding outfit!
3. Our wedding location can be reached on foot or by our old fashioned horse drawn carriage service (exclusively provided by our on mountain horse carriage company). Due to the nature of this tranquil setting we regret that we cannot grant permission for any motorized vehicles to be used for transportation of wedding guests to the venue.
4. You are free to decorate our wedding pagoda to suit your own tastes and wedding themes. We simply ask that naked flames not be used and that all decorations are cleaned up on the day of the wedding.
5. As we are an environmentally-friendly Resort we ask that your guests throw bird seed, rice or rose petals instead of paper confetti.
6. We have our 'Comet Express' chairlift running all summer long from 23rd June 07 - 3rd Sept 07. This chair provides a fast 7.5 minute one-way ride up to the top of the mountain and allows for a beautiful hike down through our wild flower meadows. At just over an hour on the shortest trail this makes for a great summer activity. For those who wish to take a trip to the top for the stunning vista but would prefer to take a chair back to the base of the village we have our Summit Chair running on certain Weekends. The Summit Chair is located right at the end of the village main street.
7. All tickets for the chairlifts can be purchased from our Ski Dazzle Retail shop. For all pre-booked groups of 10 people or more a group discount is available. This is the ideal way for your guests to experience the whole mountain vista and capture some brilliant photo souvenirs.
8. Be aware that the seats on the Comet Express chairlift are used by mountain bikers all summer so the cleanest chair to take to the top is definitely the Summit!.
As our wedding pagoda is located within our resort setting there are also a few points listed below that you should be aware of:
1. The general public could watch your wedding if they wish; no outdoor areas of Silver Star Mountain Resort can be blocked off or closed for a private function. However, the 'Horsin Around' trail is not marked for biking or hiking so is usually relatively quiet.
2. Throughout the summer there will be outdoor equipment operating throughout the Resort. We have chosen the wedding location carefully to minimize the impact of any noise on your wedding proceedings.
3. All public facilities are a short walk from the pagoda with the closest washrooms located in the village Town Hall building.
4. We do not include seating in the wedding venue fee; all sides of the Pagoda are open and provide a 360 degree view for your guests when ceremonies take place in the centre. If seating is required then please contact the Groups Coordinator for further details.
5. While we do not provide a Justice of the Peace to preside over your ceremony, you are most welcome to bring your own wedding official.
6. This list is simply a guide, so please do contact us for further information and to discuss how we can best make your day as special as possible.
